FTP and SFTP are long-standing standard protocols for moving files between computers and servers. SFTP is the secure version, encrypting the transfer over an SSH connection, and both are supported almost everywhere. Media teams use them as a dependable, no-frills way to send and receive footage to and from a server, particularly when working with partners or facilities that already run their own FTP endpoints.

FTP / SFTP works with Imaginario in both directions. Media delivered over FTP or SFTP is ingested and indexed on arrival, searchable by what is said and shown on screen, and finished clips can be sent back out over FTP or SFTP.
