Where can I save and curate clips?

You can curate and save clips across all tools, including:

Discovery (lightbulb in navigation bar)
Search (magnifying glass in navigation bar)
Highlight to Edit (highlighter in navigation bar)

How do I save a clip from Discovery?

Select an episode and click Keywords or Topics.
Choose a keyword (e.g., “George”) or Topic to get suggested clips.
Select a clip.
Choose to Add it to a Collection (e.g., “Curious George”), or Save Clip (adds it to your generic “Saved Clips” section in Home).

You can also select multiple clips and batch save them to a collection or to the saved clips section.

Can I save clips from Search too?

Yes, the logic is the same:

Enter your search term (e.g., “monkey cooking”).
Select relevant clips from the results.
Add them to a collection of your choice (e.g., “Curious George”).

How does “Highlight to Edit” work with curation?

Use Highlight to Edit to preview and clip scenes.
Highlight parts of the transcript like a Word document.
Select relevant clips you have created.
Add them to a collection like you would from other tools.

Where do my saved clips go?

If you save directly without assigning a collection, they go to the generic “Clip Saved” in the Home section.
If you save to a collection, they appear under that specific Collection.

What can I do with saved clips and collections?

Edit single clips in Clip Studio, our lightweight in-platform editor:

Click a clip in Saved Clips or Collections to open it in Clip Studio.
Preview and refine the clip by moving the video handles and resizing to various formats (9:16, 16:9, 1:1).
Add subtitles, including animated ones — see Clip Studio for more information.
Add your logo.
Export single clips to Adobe Premiere via XML export (look for the PR button). More information in Export to Premiere / Resolve — Single Clip.

After modifying individual clips inside a collection: go to Collections, click the three-dot icon on the collection card, and select Export to Adobe Premiere via XML export. Every saved clip, entire collection, or automated social cut from StoryLab™ can be sent to Clip Studio — including multi-clip edits of a whole collection — or exported to Adobe Premiere / DaVinci Resolve.

Can I download clips?

Yes – whether in Saved Clips or a Collection, you can always download them directly from those views.

From a collection you can also merge clips into one, download the clips (cut from the proxies), or download the metadata — an EDL-style file with the start and end points of every clip.

Downloading a clip doesn’t automatically save it in your Collections or Saved Clip sections. Make sure to save it first if you want to come back to it later.
